Malwarebytes 3.0 Released

Malwarebytes Labs have announced the release of Malwarebytes 3.0, 'a next-generation antivirus replacement'.

As well as the usual Anti-Malware, this new version now comes with built-in Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware features. Malwarebytes Labs claim that you can scan up to 4 times faster than before, and use Malwarebytes (3.0) as your sole antivirus protection. You can run it alongside other security apps too if you prefer. I have chosen to run it alongside Windows Defender, as usual. Although this new version costs a little more at $39.99 per year, existing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware subscribers can simply upgrade for free and continue paying their usual annual subscription of $24.95 and it will remain at that price.

To upgrade from previous versions, you will need to download Malwarebytes 3.0 here, or the same link via their blog.

(Apr 9, 2017) Please note: If you are using the Windows 10 Creators Update, you might notice that Malwarebytes has disabled Windows Defender. To fix this issue, please see my blog post here.

I am so excited about this product and its ability to replace your traditional antivirus. It’s something we’ve been working toward for many years, and something both our consumer and business customers have been asking for. Malwarebytes
