Last Week to Upgrade to Windows 10 for FREE

EDIT (January 6, 2018) Microsoft extends cut-off date to Windows 10 Upgrade for Assistive Technology users

Have you upgraded to Windows 10 yet? Would you like to treat yourself this holiday season?

As mentioned here, if you haven't upgraded your Windows 7 or Windows 8 device to Windows 10 for FREE, you can still do so, but there's only one week left.

Microsoft was keen to fulfill their desire to get 1 billion people to change to Windows 10 within the first 2 to 3 years of Windows 10's release. For this reason, they offered a free upgrade to Windows 10 until 29th of July, 2016.

A loophole of sorts was kept open where Microsoft has been offering the Windows 10 upgrade for free, for all assistive technology users. There was and is no checking process to this offer, and it could mean anyone who needs, uses, tests or foresees themselves using assistive technology.

Customers who use assistive technologies can upgrade to Windows 10 at no cost (offer at Microsoft)

I indeed upgraded one of my PCs this way, when I was testing assistive software for the Tech Accessibility page.

This offer is now drawing to a close and will end on December 31, 2017 (see above image).

So, if you don't fancy paying for Windows 10 in the future, but you'd like to upgrade, now is a good time to do it. See the official Microsoft page here for more information: Customers who use assistive technologies can upgrade to Windows 10 at no cost.

Tip: Please consider backing up your important files and data to a separate or removable drive for safekeeping, before upgrading any operating system.

Are you going to upgrade to (or now buy) Windows 10?
